The inaugural Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation “Art of Philanthropy” award was presented to international photographer Greg Davis of Austin, Texas for his photograph “Blanket Weaver” at The 54th Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival (WPSAF). The photograph features a Vietnamese woman’s hands dyed green and blue as a result of her blanket weaving.
After a “60 Minutes” story chronicled the growing problem of homelessness in Seminole County, The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation took immediate action, providing a grant to the Christian Help Foundation to stock their food pantry and assist homeless students at an elementary school in Casselberry.
Just shy of its 40th anniversary, the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation awarded $100 million in grant money. Pushing the Foundation over the $100 million mark is a grant made to the Archibald Granville Bush Science Center at Rollins College.
